Jawan Burwell

Dr. Jawan Marquis Burwell is a dedicated early childhood education leader, speaker, and author committed to advancing high-quality learning experiences for children and families. He serves as the Program Director of the Child Development Laboratory at North Carolina A&T State University, where he leads a nationally accredited program and supports the development of future educators. With a strong background in child development and family studies, Dr. Burwell brings both academic expertise and practical experience to his work.

He is the founder of JMB Learning Solutions, a consulting firm that provides professional development, technical assistance, and strategic support to early childhood programs. Dr. Burwell is also the author of Daddy’s Classroom: A Journey of Learning Together, a children’s book that highlights the importance of father engagement and positive male role models in early learning environments. His work centers on equity, leadership, and strengthening connections between children, families, and educators.
